Blaine Courts Continues Fighting Hunger in Anoka County!
November 1-15 will be our annual Fall Food Drive, with donations of canned goods and unperishable food items being take throughout the first two weeks of the month to the Salvation Army Emergency Food Bank of Blaine. The food bank is located at the Human Services building, where our friends from ACCAP have their offices, and many of our residents past and present have utilized this essential resource in times of need. Last year, our residents donated just under 200lbs. of food, and this year’s goal is 200lbs. which we hope to exceed. If we do, our residents will have a special treat soon after the drive completes – we’re thinking pizza party!
Formerly run by CEAP (Community Emergency Assistance Programs), the Anoka County Food Shelf has been run by the Salvation Army for the last several years. Their hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:00am – 4:00pm. and the food shelf is closed Friday-Sunday.
