Anthony James Residents “Shakes” it Up
The LCR dice game is a fast-moving game that anyone can play. It requires three or more players and can be played with both small and large groups, so it makes a particularly good game for family gatherings, holiday parties, summer get-togethers, or other such events. Players start with a few chips and then take turns rolling the dice to determine which direction they should pass their chips. The object of LCR is to be the only player with any remaining chips. The residents at Anthony James play LRC every Monday at 3:00 pm. Usually the number of residents playing is about 10-14. Whoever shows up first pushes three or four tables together to form one long table. Sometime a small treat appears in front of each chair around the table, A bit size candy bar that someone brought from home. As the game gets started conversations break out. “How was your day?” “I saw that your daughter was over yesterday.” “How are the grandkids?” Sometimes there are three or four conversations going at the same time. Somehow the game continues without a care in the world. Overall it’s the closeness of friends, the camaraderie and the sharing with each other that draws our residents down for a game of… ” Left, Right, and Center.” To learn the rules of LRC or to purchase a commercial game go to your web browser and type in “game left right and center.” Many Senior Community Centers have games that you can sign up for.
