About Coon Rapids
Coon Rapids is the largest city in Anoka County. They are also the home of the Bunker Hills Golf Club. From 1993 to 2000, Bunker Hills Golf Course hosted the PGA Senior Tours and the Coldwell Banker Burnet Senior Classic, bringing many of the greatest golfers to Coon Rapids. This city also features Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park and Bunker Hills Regional Park, home to Minnesota’s largest outdoor water park, Bunker Beach.
This city of 62,726 citizens offers a variety of community events including the well-known 4th of July Community Celebration, summer and winter concerts, Movie in the Park events, Farmers Market, Pet Fair, Safety Camps, and a variety of other activities. There is something for everyone in Coon Rapids!
Coon Rapids Fourth of July
The Coon Rapids Fourth of July Community Celebration is coming up July 2-4 at Boulevard Park, on the grounds of the Coon Rapids Ice Center. This event kicks things off with the Firecracker 5K/10K/Kids Sparkler Dash. You also won’t want to miss the parade, carnival games, rides, live music, bingo, pull tabs, car show, food and drinks, and some of the best fireworks in the Twin Cities!
Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park
This park is one of the most unique parks in the Three Rivers. The Mississippi River defines the boundary of this 160-acre park and there are many
opportunities to see our nation’s greatest river up close. From the 12-foot wide observation walkway on top of the dam, enjoy spectacular scenery,
the roar of the water, and rainbows in the mist.
Bunker Beach Water Park
Bunker Beach is Minnesota’s largest outdoor water park. This park features a wave pool, water slides, lazy loop, rocky bay, adventure pool, volleyball
courts, and several picnic areas. WCCO even voted Bunker Beach the Best Outdoor Water Park in Minnesota 2017!
